I decided to try my hand at landscape photography after winning the title of Miss North Dakota 2009. North Dakota always has and always will be my home, though it is a place many outsiders know very little about.
In my year of service, I traveled thousands of miles, north to south, east to west, and everywhere I went, I was always astounded at the scenic wonder that is my own backyard. From rolling wheat fields, to high-topped buttes, to the frozen crystal ponds and streams.
It is my hope that through these images, the viewer will see the true beauty that is North Dakota. Though its vastness may at times appear desolate, these wide open spaces are more than just a landscape - they are a state of mind. A simple, unadulterated world where you can see the horizon as far as your imagination permits. It is a quiet beauty, with the purest of hues and richness beyond comparison.
Come enter my world, my home. This is beauty. This is North Dakota.
